I’m a 12 year old geek and trying to find ways to be more… less geeky i guess. My sister has 2 accostics (shes 17) and learned to play at 14 or so but stopped a couple years ago.
When no ones home i sneak into her room and just fool around with it but I have no real experience with guitars, besides med on guitar hero… kinda pathetic
I desided a couple days ago that I wanted to learn how to play free bird sometime in my life so that is my dream and what i hope will keep me practicing.
Any tips???

You’re not too young at 12 to learn to play the guitar provided you have the drive, the determination, and the desire to move beyond the painful fingertips until the calluses come.
You’re not going to learn in a week’s time, or even in a month. It takes constant, everyday practice to gain expertise with the instrument.
It depends upon you.

What are some easy-to-play metal songs that someone who is just learning how to play the guitar could handle?
I’m getting bored of the stuff in the book, and I’d like to try to play some actual songs… I listen to (real) metal, and I’m wondering if anyone knows some easier songs that I could easily figure out. Preferably a song that I can hear the guitar clearly when I listen to it and not get confused. Any recommendations?
I’m a fan of melodic death metal, but most of it is probably far too complicated. Remember, I’m just starting out. This is my first venture away from the book.

One of the easiest songs is Judas Priest - Breaking the law. It’s so easy that band members of a band i listen to used it to switch their instruments on the stage and each one of them played another’s instrument. And they pulled it off quite well

if it’s on PC, you can download this game called Frets on Fire which is similar to Guitar Hero and it’s free
If it’s on a console, you have to make sure you have a working internet connection and make sure that the console is able to connect. If it’s on a 360, make sure ur XBox Live account has money and is set up.

Alright I’m interested in learning to play the guitar. I have never before picked up an electric guitar and played it. and I have no idea about all the guitar terminology-except chords.

it is electric but it resonates loud enough to be played without an amp. 24-fret
my past experiences have proved that learning for someone rather than a computer is a lot more helpful and beneficial. a computer can tell you what to do, but can’t critique you in what you are doing wrong. the computer can’t understand you as well as a real human, someone who has learned to play the guitar and knows what you are going through and how to help.

I found out you can play guitar hero or games similiar to it. I want to know where you can download it for free. I do not want to use torrent because it sucks and i hate it.
There is a person that made a modded version of guitar hero 2 for the PC, which includes audio without video graphics (E.A. Moving characters on the stage). The only problem is that you still have to get a guitar for the computer, since it doesn’t recognize the output from the console guitar.
