I am thinking about buying a electric guitar/bass, and I would like to know where I can get some free online lessons to play them. My class next year is stepping up from Ukuleles to Guitars. Also, since I am new to this, but still will be learning to play guitar, (Not electric) should I get bass or electric?

Nirvana - Come as You Are - Easy Guitar Lesson - How to Play Nirvana on Guitar
From what name would give good guitar lessons on youtube?
I’m having a hard time finding a good, clear spoken person that can explain thoroughly how to play a guitar at a beginners level. Anyone who would like to help me please?
I suppose it really depends on what kind of music you want to play but you can try Justin Sandercoe, give his name a search on YouTube and you should find a bunch of lessons.
The only issue is for a beginner YouTube lessons are all over the place with no real structure that will help you build a foundation for learning the guitar. YouTube is best at when you already have a strong foundation and are trying to figure out how to play a certain song.
But give Justin a go and see if he is what you are looking for. If not shoot me an email and I can give you a couple links for an online program that will build that foundation that I was speaking about.
good luck and happy playing….
How to Play Electric Lead Guitar Blues Lesson ez riffs part3
Can I actually learn how to play guitar off youtube?
Has anyone learned off youtube
if not
who can tell me how to learn i really wanna play it!
THANKS
My 13 yr. old son taught his self by using something called guitar tabs. He does take band in school so this may have helped some. He has only been playing since Christmas 07 and is now playing in our church choir.
I have only been having lessons for a year, and I have learnt to read notes and play basic chords, and do the 3 scales. But I am thinking of quitting guitar lessons and learning the rest by myself. Would that be wise? And also, would I be able to learn guitar tab and chord progressions on my own? Where do I go from here?
My brother did this over summer- I’m sure it’s easy enough.
Of course, starting off with a couple of lessons would be better, but it can definitely be done. To get an idea of how to play, type in “*your favourite song* tab” on Google. That will give you a list of easy to follow notations of the song you requested. You’ll be given a picture of the 6 strings (most likely made up of hyphens) and corresponding numbers. These numbers represent how many frets (little bars on the guitar) the note you have to play on the string is away from the head/ tuning keys. So:
-1—2—2
—2—1–
———-
———-
———-
———-
In the case above, the only strings being used are th top two, highest strings. So, you’ll play the top strings first fret, the second strings 2nd fret, followed by the top strings 2nd fret, followed by the seconds 1st fret finishing with the top strings second fret again.
It’s really quite simple once you get the hang of it- a great alternative to learning the notations (A, B, C, D, A sharp, etc.)
Hope that helped in some way!
Acoustic Blues guitar lesson spice up that bluesy playing
I am looking for another famous person who can play blues guitar like jimi hendrix as I feel this was his best work. Does anyone know?
I wouldnt consider Henrix to be a blues guitarist. Some R & B influence because he was a studio and touring guitarist for Motown early on. But he progressed way beyone simple blues. So to answer your question, yes, there are plenty of pure blues guitarists who are or were better at playing the blues than Hendrix was.
Check out Michael Bloomfield, BB King, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Elvin Bishop…just lots of guys. You are going to find some gems that go back into the forties and before.
any tips for teaching myself how to play guitar? (wish me luck!)?
i have not been able to find someone to teach me how to play my guitar for 3 years but recently i learned about Justin Bieber and of how he taught himself to play guitar and well i have decided to teach myself! can you people give me some support? i could use it (and i would not mind a few tips)
The best way to learn guitar is to find simple songs and learn them correctly. Do not slop through changes and practice very slowly until you can do each chord change correcly and and in time. Then gradually speed it up until you can play with the recording. There are tons of web sites for guitar tablature and free guitar lessons and how to play songs on youtube. As you learn songs, you’ll learn new chords and riffs and in good time you’ll be able to use these to create your own songs. Don’t over practice. 3 hours of noodling around doesn’t accomplish anything. Practicing slowly and correctly is the key. It would be better for you to do 15 minutes of very focused (and correct) practicing then messing around for 3 hours and not really accomplishing anything. Half-learning a song and not being able to play it in time and stumbling through chord changes isn’t really helping you. That is why I say practice it very slowly and learn to do it correctly and speed it up once you can play a section at half speed perfectly. Good luck

are there any sites that i can learn to play tabs, not just get tabs for guitar, that havent been shut down???
i love guitar, and i want to learn to actually play, and i just bought a new first act to learn on, but i dont want to go take lessons from someone, id rather teach myself, but i dont know where to find tabs and to learn to play tabs online. if u know anywhere that will teach u how to play guitar online, i would really appreaciate it
Forget tab. Learn music. Tab gives you no information on the tempo of the song, how loud or soft, etc… It just tells you where to put your fingers and unless you know the song, you are screwed. Take the time to learn to read music. You won’t be sorry.
I really want to learn to play guitar, its been something i have wanted to do for a long time. I just would like to know the easiest way to learn. I have a Dan Jacobs ESP guitar i have never touched being busy all the time sucks, is it a hard guitar for beginners to use?
i would try looking it up. then search for reviews online.
then, get lessons, if you can’t afford a teacher, which is the best method for learning, get a book or a dvd.
if not, go to www.ultimate-guitar.com or www.expertvillage.com they have some lessons. also the most useful one for me was youtube. this video helped me a lot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5dSp79TDWoc good luck and hope this helps.
How To Play Guitar for Beginners : Playing Exercise 1 for Beginning Guitar
Im just started out playing acoustic guitar and im looking for a good how- to book. there are just so many to choose from and i have no idea where to start! I would like it to be relatively easy to understand because im just starting out………….any suggestions??
First speak with someone who already plays the guitar. You need basic knowledge before you can start. Conditioning your fingers is extremely important otherwise you could damage your fingers, and lose all interest very quickly. Here’s a few things you could look at in the mean time. Been playing since the 60s.
