How do I use a PS2 guitar controller to play a dvd?
I can’t select an option from the dvd menu with the buttons. My friend brought movies and guitars for guitar hero, but no PS2 controller. The strum changes the line I’m on in the dvd menu but when it goes to “play” I can’t select it….
I am sure there is a way but why?!?
you can use your controller, also as cheap as they are, go to gamestop and buy an official or a Gamestop brand DVD remote for 9-19 bucks depending on the brand

Your best option to learn to play guitar, learn basic music theory, and play by notation is by getting Hal Leonard’s Beginner Guitar Method Book One at your local music store. It costs about $6.50, and with a CD, about $7.50.
Also, pick up a chord book that lists at least 2,500 chords and their accompanying music notation written chords.
Does anyone know what technique I would use to play the guitar quickly with my fingers? I would like to play those “fast” songs like Cliffs of Dover, etc. on my guitar, but don’t like the sound of the pick, so I want to learn to play fast with my fingers. What kind of technique would I use?
well, u could simply go up and down the guitar, starting on the low E, playing 1234, as in, ur 1st finger on the 1st fret, 2nd on the 2nd, and so on, then go down string by string till u get to the high E, then, u SHIFT to the right one, so when u play 1234, ur 1st finger is on the 2nd fret, then u go back all up, then shift and continue, go all the way to the very last fret on ur guitar and keeping on increasing ur pace when u feel like u’ve got the hang of it, its a but tedious, but its a great work out. if u want something more interesting, then learn the scales and do the same thing, go up….then all the way down again. being able to play those songs takes LOTS of practice, so don;t be discouraged if u feel like ur too slow, just PRACTICE! good luck! :]
p.s i forgot to add, in my opinion, i think u should stay with the pick, as most metal songs if not all, are by picking, finger picking is only for classical music, flamengo, etc. just stick with the pick! at first, i played with my fingers, then someone said i should try playing with a pick, at first, i found it hard and awkward, but in the long run, it was better for me and i found to prefer it a lot more than finger picking, so keep on picking!
What is the best DVD to learn how to play the guitar?
I have just purchased a guitar and really would like to learn to play it right away. I really don’t have the money right now for lessons so I am looking for a very good DVD that is easy to follow and will teach me how to play. Does anyone know of any good DVDs like that?

Theres no such thing as a quick guitar fix. It takes practice and since your not paying for lessons (by the way there are good guitar books that teach in a very understandable way try CVLS products they come with an audio cd so you know if what you’re playing is right) Heres what you go to www.freeguitarvideos.com they have loads of great stuff there also the makers of CVLS books. Learn your chords and scales at www.chordbook.com i suggest you learn the A D Echords first then G D C. Learn your minor and major pentatonic scale (preferably in the key of A). Once your comfortable with the basics then you should try learning guitar tabs of your favorite bands at www.ultimate-guitar.com. But try to stick to the easier songs so that you won’t become discourged and remember when you play these tabs practice them slowy and as your able to play them comfortably then ramp up the speed.

I wouldnt consider Henrix to be a blues guitarist. Some R & B influence because he was a studio and touring guitarist for Motown early on. But he progressed way beyone simple blues. So to answer your question, yes, there are plenty of pure blues guitarists who are or were better at playing the blues than Hendrix was.
Check out Michael Bloomfield, BB King, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Elvin Bishop…just lots of guys. You are going to find some gems that go back into the forties and before.
How to play guitar software that i can plug my electric guitar into?
is there a software that will teach me how to play guitar while letting me plug my current guitar (black behringer electric guitar) into my computer?
There’s lots of guitar softwares that will show you how to play, but there’s not really one that will correspond to what you’re playing. There are, however, input jacks that allow you to plug your guitar separately into the computer. I use the M-Audio plug-in, all though you can just go to your local guitarcenter and ask for a about 3 dollar little adaptor that allows you to plug your guitar into your microphone inlet.

i play guitar and i’ve been playing for 3 months and ive gotten pretty good. My first tip would be to learn the Major Chords (A,B,C,D,E,F,G) after that try minor chords and sevenths, my second tip would be to find a good teacher if you don’t want a teacher and want to learn by yourself learn how to read tabs and then you can learn songs. Good luck and buy a tuner to make sure your guitar is in tune or else it will sound terrible

I don’t see why not; I actually wasn’t aware they had Essential Elements books for guitar. lol Well I guess thats a bit ignorant of me, but anyway, I started learning to play the trumpet in those books in beginner band at school in sixth grade, and I like them. I’d go check out your local music store, they would have awesome beginner books for guitar. I have some pretty great ones. I taught myself basically how to play guitar with books and it was great for me.
