Ok, I found these guitar chords to this song I want to learn on the piano, and I thought it might be easier to do this than to learn the song by ear.
Here are the chords: Em, C2, G, D
Em = E,G,B
C2 = just play C major = C,G,E
G = G,B,D
D = D, F#,A
hope this helps!
Beginning Piano & Guitar Lessons : How to Play Guitar for Beginners
what type of pick do you think is the best to shred and play sweep-picked arpeggios on the electric guitar?
playing with a pick is not my strength, I usually play a nylon stringed guitar with my fingers, I’ve trying to play the electric guitar using a pick but I can’t play shit when I use a hard pick, I think it’s easier to play with a soft pick.
what do u think
I kinda agree with the others, medium to heavy is the best to get good emphasis during a solo.
HOWEVER…..
A few guitarists I’ve played with (pre-Metal days) who did Randy Rhodes type stuff liked the flimsy thin ones for sweep picking.
but it’s really not up to what anybody else thinks.
if you play better with a thin pick then go for it. You can also have different picks for different songs.If you want to play ballsy solos like Ritchie Blackmore or classic rock guitarists go with a medium stiff pick (tremolo picking and stiff notes)
But if you do songs for sweep picking switch to the thin ones.
BTW
I recommend Dunlop Nylon picks. They are indestructible and never get all chewed up like the hard plastic ones do. I’ve broken strings before when the string got caught in a notch in the side of the pick.
I bought 4 Dunlop picks and used the same picks for 10 years until I finally lost them all

The key phrase is “make their living”. Everybody has to do it, and the fact is I can’t think of one guitar course available on the web that is poor quality or low value for money. The difference between the various packaged guitar courses and membership guitar sites is musical tastes and different approaches to teaching.

any tips for teaching myself how to play guitar? (wish me luck!)?
i have not been able to find someone to teach me how to play my guitar for 3 years but recently i learned about Justin Bieber and of how he taught himself to play guitar and well i have decided to teach myself! can you people give me some support? i could use it (and i would not mind a few tips)
The best way to learn guitar is to find simple songs and learn them correctly. Do not slop through changes and practice very slowly until you can do each chord change correcly and and in time. Then gradually speed it up until you can play with the recording. There are tons of web sites for guitar tablature and free guitar lessons and how to play songs on youtube. As you learn songs, you’ll learn new chords and riffs and in good time you’ll be able to use these to create your own songs. Don’t over practice. 3 hours of noodling around doesn’t accomplish anything. Practicing slowly and correctly is the key. It would be better for you to do 15 minutes of very focused (and correct) practicing then messing around for 3 hours and not really accomplishing anything. Half-learning a song and not being able to play it in time and stumbling through chord changes isn’t really helping you. That is why I say practice it very slowly and learn to do it correctly and speed it up once you can play a section at half speed perfectly. Good luck

I’m a beginner guitar player, and a advanced flute player if that helps, and I’ve seen riffs to read on www.e-chords.com (awesome site for tabs for guitar!) and they sound cool…I would like to be able to play them! Can you please explain them…extremely simple haha I’m not good with techy terms!
Much Appreciated!
All you really have to do is search for guitar tabs on the net that include tablature for various riffs. You can start here:
As well you can search for riff tabs for particular songs by searching the song title followed by the words “riff tab.”
Ex. “Layla riff tab”
I’m assuming you know how to read tabs. However, since you are an advanced flutist (flautist), I’m guessing you also know how to read standard notation, and ideally, that would be the best way to learn a whole song – including the riff. Just buy the sheet music from any of the digital sheet music stores on the internet. Here are a few:
