what do you need to know to play the guitar?

i’ve had 3 private and non private teachers and it went all to waste because i didn’t like any one of them and i quit after the first lesson
but i really am dedicated to playing the guitar so i want to learn the guitar online and books by myself
what do you need to learn and practice on in order to play acousitc guitar
i know you need to know:
`the chords
`the strumming
`tuning
`rythem
what else?
i dont want to be like a master just like a regular guitar player

Hello, well, i ve played guitar for over 10 years now and all what you mentioned was all what i needed even now.

So, if you have to add something, that must be COMPOSITION.

When you have learned the basic chords, its time to compose crappy songs, which eventually will become in very good songs, im composing music since a years ago, its fun i must say.

So i think thats the element you need, composition is the final step of music, thats my viewpoint.

Play guitar through PC?

Hi. When i plug my electric guitar to mic in on my PC, and unmute the mic port, i hear my guitar, but it plays acoustic. I want distortion. Rock sound. I use programs Acoustica mixcraft, guitar rig 3 and so on. But i only get very bad quality sound. I have Realtek HD soundcard, my computer is new, really good, i dont think that my soundcard is bad. I use ASIO. I dont know maybe i need a better program, or maybe somehow to calibrate my soundcard? Help please.]
